Follow-up.
After almost two weeks of no success with the Caladryl and Benadryl, I went back to the docs yesterday and was given 20mg of the oral Prednisone to cure it.
Almost overnight I'm experiencing less symptoms and see it clear up.
So it was a reaction to something, but I may never find out what the heck it is.
Hi,
You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites.
Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .
Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin.
Do not shave or wax the area, wear lose comfortable clothes, avoid sweat accumulation.
It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for your symptoms and a proper clinical examination.
Let us know if you need any other information and post us on how you are doing.
Regards.
I noticed very small bumps about a week ago, and thought maybe acne. Since they've gotten worse, it's not that, and they began to turn red at times (as well as return to normal).
I did get to the very bottom of my deodarant can, i.e. ran out, so maybe there was a chemical at the bottom that could be a culprit.
Will post all follow-up.
Hi,
You should avoid using a deodarant directly to your under arm skin, avoid shaving or waxing the area for some time. These could be the cause of your symptoms.
Try to avoid sweat accumulation at the sites and use a powder. Keep the area clean and wear lose, comfortable clothes.
Since when have you noticed the lesion?
This could be some insect bite, eczema or bacterial skin infection or dermatitis.
You could take oral antihistamine medications for the itching and apply calamine lotion at the site.
It would be best to consult a skin specialist as nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions.
Let us know about what the doctor advises and post us if you have any other doubts.
Regards.
There has been no drastic change in my lifestyle other than I did get a pet snake about 3 1/2 weeks ago, which could be the culprit obviously...
