Why can't I see after Restor?

It has been a month since my left eye surgery with a Restor IOL 10/23/08 - initially I couldn't see at all  following the surgery - total blurrrrrr for a week - then on a followup visit on 11/01/08 I couldn't even see the large letters on the chart - I had emergency surgery that day to "flush out" the eye - another set back, the following day I had eye pressure of 34 and again another procedure.  After 2 weeks and with computer glasses (correction for right eye only) I was able to go back to work -- it has been a month and I cannot see out of my left eye to read - with magnifying glasses my vision in the left eye is still distorted - a streak appears when reading almost like a faded spot in the text throughout the paragraph - doctor says don't worry - he wears glasses.  He swears that I will really be pleased once my eye settles - so I wonder when might that be - I can see at a distance as I can drive but have only done so on familar roads.  I am afraid that I made the wrong decision when I selected Restor - my doctor said that I would be a perfect candidate - not so sure of that.  Printed words in black type are somewhat grainey and blurry with streaks thru some areas - almost like looking thru the cataract - any suggestions or questions that I can ask my doctor on my next visit which is next week?  Another question why do I see blue splashes out of my left eye with Restor lens?? I can't find any info on that topic.

I have found the reference data - oh my - from what I have read so far, the model number  in the majority of the issues are the same as what was implanted into my eye SN6AD3

You should get one or two independent alternate opinions from Eye MDs that do refractive surgery with multifocal IOLs.  You can use the search feature to read about others with similiar problems.

Check out the FDA CDRH (Maude) database. Alcon is the manufacturer and Restor is the brand. Select a wide range of dates.  2000-Oct 2008 there are 758 adverse reactions.
