How to treat vomiting/ nausea during pregnancy post Nissen fundoplication

I have read a few posts re: not being able to vomit post having nissen fundoplication surgery & was wanting to talk more with people out there.  I have my surgery done twice (post not being sucessful the first time) and have since had one episode where I needed to vommit and couldn't, approximately 5 years post surgery.  At the time, I had all the motions of vomiting, however nothing was able to come up.  I experienced extreme pain from the vomiting motions that lasted for considerable time, and wanded how I didn't reverse the operation.  To date, I do not have not experienced this sinece, however am extremenly careful with my lifestyle and dietary habits.  UI am wanting to get pregnant soon, and wandering how and what to do if this does caruse to be an issue.  If anybody can assist, I would be most grateful.

I think each patient is going to different in terms of how sick they get during pregnancy and how the patient has taken to the fundoplication. I personally had my op almost exactly 2 years ago and had had problems vomiting from day 1 after the op.
I am now 8weeks pregnant and suffering from all day morning sickness which is very painful and I've been written off work with it.
This being said I am told I am quite a severe case as I have Elhers Danlos Syndrome.
I think the thing to remember is everyone is different, every pregnancy is different, but the child at the end of it will be worth it!!!! All the best xx

I have had the surgery (in 2003) and luckily did not have any vomiting experiences uyntil a yera ago when I learned I can vomit. Perhaps it is because it has been 7 years since the surgery things have relaxed a bit.

I am pregnant now, and luckily have not had vomiting with morning sickness. However, I have had a really uncomfortable full feeling where I need to burp to release gas, but am often unable to. In the first few years after the surgery I was unable to burp. I have been able to burp recently though, so I am thinking this is just due to pregnancy, and not because of the surgery, but I am not sure.

I too am curious about this. I have no gerd symptoms, however, after an endoscopy my doctor said that my esophagus appeared to have been damaged by gerd (despite being asymptomatic). This, he needs me to be on long term PPI's to treat my asymptomatic gerd. I do not want to be on PPI's for the rest of my life so I have schedule a ph 24 hour test. If the results show that I am silently refluxing, I want to have the fundo surgery. I am only 24 and am planning on having children soon. If anyone knows anything about fundo and pregancy, please post.
