I have Multiple sclerosis and have recently had this strange redness and burning of my heels. I wake up in the morning and it is like someone took a match to both heels. They are actually burned! I have low bp, I am underweight and wear proper foot wear.I walk every day throughout the house but rest often. Is this related to the MS?
Where precisely is the pain? Is it under the balls of your feet, the arches or the heel?
There is varied reasons for panfull feet
- Being over weight can cause problems where by the person would place his/her feet the wrong way, in order to balance their body. Even though I am not over weight, I walk the wrong way, in order to compensate for weak knees and flat feet and this does cause severe burning of my feet when I walk or stand for extended periods of time.
- Improper foot wear can cause very painfull feet when walking or standing for extended time and even more so when the person is overweight. If possible, make sure to find a shoe shop where the people know which shoe will fit your specific foot shape the best.
- If your arches are very flat or very high, you may need to see a podiatrist for recommendations on foot wear and/or shoe inserts to compensate.
The ultimate suggestion would be to see a podiatrist in order to ensure that there isn't any problems with your foot structure and/or the way that you walk.
Your doctor is right in saying that the medication would not directly cause the problem with your feet...but a lot of people has dietary problems when taking medication for mental problems so it might be indirectly related to the medication as it causes you to become over weight.
Best of luck!
