Tiger, 20yr this last Nov, is a tortoiseshell. I found her in 1988 in our firewood pile that was covered in snow. She was the only surviving member of her litter. She's the runt. She had 1/2 an eye open, so I'm guessing she was about 10 days old. she was the size of the palm of my hand. I bottle fed and bathed Tiger when she was a kitten. She spent most of her life on my parents farm. she retired from the farm life at the old age of 17 yr. She caught anything from mice, small barn rats, moles, birds. Tiger would catch gopher snakes, drag them to the front porch knock on the window by the door. when you came to the door, she'd release the very mad snake and run to a safe spot and look proud of herself. my dad would take the snake and find a gopher hole. I'd feed Tiger. I've had to start giving her baths again, but with a warm damp cloth. She now drools when she purrs, so I keep a rag around. she's usually a sweat cat, but cats get cranky when they age (just like people). when she's not sleeping she acts like a 6 month old kitten. I know she's a cat, but she like a daughter to me. I've had her for over 2/3 of my life.
