The weight loss, make that the non-loss, this past week does NOT reflect the work I put into the exercising nor the improvement in my eating.  Soooo, I'll make another adjustment.

I'm going to get some aerobic exercise in before my first meal every morning, or at least most mornings.  On the days I do weights in the a.m. I'm gunna take it easier, make it a two mile walk with increases in intensity.  On days that I won't lift weights, I'm going to make it an all out aerobic work out.

Bottom line, I'm gunna get some calorie burn in the morning.

Second, very minimal carbs the last two meals of the day.  Just what's in the milk/yogurt/non-starchy veggies that I might have.

Lets see how that works.

Making progress

Feels like I'm making some progress in this go-around towards weight loss and fitness.  Yeah, been there, done that but now I'm in my 50's and it's been awhile and I've let myself go quite a bit.  Thank heaven my truck driving experiment is over and I'm so very glad I have a wife who loves me and is joining me in this!  Who knows, maybe we'll both live long, happy and healthy lives together!

Boom-chakalaka

There.  Getting even a little more rest at night, using 7-keto, upping the calories a bit and increasing the activity during the day did the trick.  Lost 2 1/2 lbs this past week!  I worked my *** off and recorded every bite I ate, and it was very much not so fun but man the 15 minutes of "glory" makes it worth it!

I realize there are many here at this site who's challenges are real, who face a nightmare and are just trying to survive.  There are also those who have such a weight loss challenge that their lives depend on it and they have a long way to go.  They may have family members who's daily challenge is to make it through the day.  These folks may read that first paragraph and wish they were so lucky that losing 20 or 30 lbs was their primary concern here.  My heart goes out to you if you are one who's challenges go beyond some slightly unhealthy weight, or the vanity that I may seem to exhibit in this.  May God bless you and keep you.

For the rest of us, let us be thankful for our good health and be mindful of the blessings we have while praying for those who face real challenges.

So, finally, a

OK, so I did not lose any weight this past week even though I thought I hit the treadmill fairly well, a few weight training sessions and a few long walks as well, not to mention i watched what I ate like a hawk.

OK, so I gained a half a stink'n pound...

Soooo, I hit a rut.  A wall. The old fashioned and well known plateau.  So what do we do?  Analyze what I did and what I can or should change.  A few things stick out.

First, my calorie count is maybe a bit low.  So, instead of topping off at around 1600 I should step it up to maybe 1700-1800 or a tad more, which is still far below my weight maintain daily calorie count of 2400-2600.  Might help boost my basal metabolic rate and reverse any "OMG, I'm starving..." reflex the old bod-bod may be experiencing.

Second, time to step up the exercise.  30 minutes of cardio (with up to 5+ minutes at anaerobic state) four times a week and two fast paced and hard weight workouts as well.  Also, up to two long walks a week and as much "other" as I can fit in, such as ab work, standing instead of sitting and walking when I am standing doing nothing, etc...  Gotta burn those calories, but not over-train.

Thirdly, time to start on the 7-Keto.  100mg morning and another 100mg in afternoon, preferably with the meal preceding a workout.

Fourthly, and lastly, try to get a little more sleep.  Six or so hours a night is NOT cutting it and can interfere with not only weight loss, but good health and general well being.  Gotta try to hit the sack sooner.

My goal for this next week?  Well, not only to land that job with Metro but to maybe lose two pounds minimum.  Soooo, if it goes my way I'll get a job offer AND the scale will "say" 181.5 lbs or less!

I hope my wife reaches her goal as well.  She is such a precious person!
