I have been a lurker until I saw this posted. I just had to reply. I hope this doesn't get deleted but it may. I have been kicked off boards for posting this info, but here goes:
CCHR is run by the scientology organization. Please be careful before getting involved with this organization, don't give them your name/phone number before you do your own research on them. And please don't take anything they say at face value.
Scientology has its own brand of psychotherapy, they call it auditing. It will run you thousands of dollars per 12 and 1/2 hour blocks of time. They will sale you the courses to do with the auditing, of course. You also must buy their books. Audiotapes, I believe, are still an optional purchase. During "auditing" or counseling, they will ask you to hold onto 2 cans that are hooked up to an e-meter. The e-meter is a primitive lie detector. If you get your children involved, they will ask your child questions while they are on "the cans" or lie detector if you will.
Please be careful.
Go into your search engine you are correct , a lot has been writtenregarding this matter, Dr Peter Breggin writes extensively about this problem I have heard him speak on the subject, put Breggin.com in and see for your self.
Realize that the video is produced by CCHR. CCHR was founded in 1969 by the Church of Scientology. While the video presents things that are definitely worth thinking about. It is an extremely biased video. Many of their points remind me more of the recent campaign ads that generalized everything to get a point across. Just be aware if you are watching the video that there is more than one (or two or three) sides to the debate.
