It was a few years ago, there was no diagnosis for all the ADD abd ADHD I was a very active child. today it would be called Hyper, and no doubt some school would have said to my Mom your Daughter has ADHD I wasnt interested in the stuff that bored me at school but no one at least in the UK told me or my Family I should be on Meds, for it and to get my grades up, I guess that was the differance , incidently I went onto a Grammar School in UK and inspite of being a service brat and moving around a lot eventually went onto London University and got a BA in Languages.Hey you even got my life history thrown in,.
Interesting, most ADHD kids are usually twisting their heads around looking at whatever is stimulating them. Did you get diagnosed with ADHD, and did they try any medications on you/
I dont believe that that is the way to go as there are many Natural remedies out there to help you, for a start try taking a multiple vitamin-mineral supplement with antioxidants, Vit B Complex and Vit C also Fish oil has been shown to help with concentration, I was the same and I stared out of the window for hours if I was bored but noone labelled me as having anything than old fashioned laziness and bordeom, now if the subject was interesting I was wide awake. Go into your search engine and find out the side effects the Meds for ADD can give you, its really not worth taking Drugs simply to do better at school.
Hello,
It seems the stimulant meds could help you, but just remember they are addictive. So if you are aware of that upfront and use them as prescribed then you should do fine, it really is better to stay on top of your usage and not get caught up abusing them. Believe me, I work in a psychiatrists office and see this frequently. Problems are more likely with people who have a tendency to become addicted and are not concerned with the downfalls of becoming addicted.
