You are definitely not dumb and definitely you do not have ADD. Seeing a psychiatrist is the best route for you to follow.
You are doing the right thing by seeing a psychiatrist. I am sure she is going to be able to help you. Keep an open mind. And it may not happen over night but things WILL get better. What you are feeling IS being human. We all have things we work on. So see the doctor and she will help you feel better. good luck
well thank you very much both of you. Specialmom thinks it is dyslexia but I've checked that a year ago and the dyslexia specialist found nothing wrong. I've tried all sort of vitamin including ginko bilabo, 7 seas, ginseng, even tried the tea related to it, even tried the herbal type medicine. I used to do a yoga and even a mediation. As soon as mediation start my mind, heart starts to sing a song or starts to dream of a super hero or thinks like that. I even bought a things like Mindspa which you wear in an eye and an ear. Then it has different programme to ease you off from pressure, depression things like that. Still no cure. Must have done a bad thing in the past life that way god has created me in a such a hurry time, he/she forget to put the things like a characteristics of human being. But I am seeing she may be psychiatrist on 2 weeks time. Hope she has got an answer or hope she will not get confused with me...
Hello, first let me say, you are clearly NOT dumb. You are articulate and well spoken based on your post. You've made it all the way to college and have been passing the whole way and that is outstanding. You could NOT be dumb and do as such. So good for you.
What is actually going on here, I am not sure. Could you have dyslexia? Many very intelligent people have this learning disability and it affects how the written word is perceived. Many smart people also have add/adhd (which are slightly different---- the add types are often less noticable than the adhd types (h stands for hyperactivity). This is an issue with the nervous system and brain chemistry. It is diagnosed by a physician and I would only be evaluated by a psychiatrist for this. Was any testing/evaluations done for you when you were younger? Medication is often given for add/adhd but I would try some other things first. Margypops has good ideas above for some natural remedies as there are books written with ideas of how to cope. A psychiatrist could help guide you through this is if it is the case. I also wonder if anxiety is playing a role as well. My guess is that it does. Anxiety is very treatable. It sometimes causes disorganization and confusion. So does depression. Again, a psychiatrist could help. Your university may have staff to help you with this.
I would perhaps schedule a visit with a doctor and discuss this with them. It is nothing to be ashamed of. I can't even tell you how common it is. You are certainly not alone. Good luck to you.
