does my child need on meds

I have a 9 year old and she has only ADD not AD/HD. She has been on a couple of different meds but they all seem to wipe her out and she seems like a totally different person with no personality, she has lost a total of 32 lbs., she has headaches and her stomache hurts offten. She has a history of localized seizures, but most of the meds say if you have seizures don't take this, so what do I need to do? She is doing alot better in school and her grades are good, but I don't want to harm my child just for good grades. Is there a med just for ADD and not both AD/HD? What is the safest med to take?

My main concern is what meds do you currently have her on as well?

Losing 32lbs could be quite a problem for a 9 year old.  What was her height and weight before taking meds?  Is she on any medication for seizures?  Absence seizures can be mistaken for ADD.  Perhaps she should be evaluated by a pediatric neurologist.

I agree your Doctor is the one to ask about which Med to take, Does your Daughter do plenty of outside activities, most children with ADD or ADHD thrive outdoors So making hiking, swimming cycling,,nature study skating and other non-competitive activities part of the Family routine.Experts also advise parents to focus on the positive side of a childs behavior catch her doing something good and praise her. .channel her energy in constructive ways.Food supplements have been shown to work, VitB Complex and Vit C with antioxidants and Fish oil, I hope you daughter feels better soon.

I would talk to a doctor about this one... You definitely do not want to jeopardize her health or her spirit!
