Vic addiction

I've been taken vicodin for about a year and a half now. I was taking 5 or 6 a day but in the past two weeks its been 10 or 12 a day. Can I stop by tappering off? I'm going to start a new job this week and I don't want to screw it up. I'm seeing my back doctor in a couple of days should I say anything to him? Right now I have about 70 pills left 5/500. Has anybody tappered off and quit with that amount? Any help, please.

I hope you cantaper since your original amount wasn't much. I was on 45 pills a day at 10/325 mg. There is no tapering at that point. It's treatment city, I tried to taper with a docs help but my addiction was too bad. If you ask your doc to give you a taper schedule you may be able to do it but you have to start now before it starts getting worse & it will get worse, trust me.
Good luck to you!!

Hi James,

I was at about 8 pills per day and tapered. Take it as slow as you possibly can. Also post questions on the other forum, you'll get way more responses and tons of support.
Take your vitamins and exercise as much as you can too!
