Thanks for all the replies. I'll check the other community out as well. I actually saw some of Jenny8575309's stuff. I really enjoyed the Tenets she posted and am using them in the local NA newsletter. Good for you, ashamed03, for coming back. I just witnessed a good friend of mine relapse and come back to the program. It was because she took more than the prescribed amount of a medication in a dose. She could have easily have hidden that, so I am so proud of her for working an honest program. It takes a huge amount of courage to come back to the rooms after a relapse. Thank God for acceptance and love from fellow members in NA or AA. And thank God for courage and humility to keep people coming back to the programs if they relapse. Thanks IBKleen for mentioning attraction rather than promotion. I think I'll go read Tradition 11 right now and remind myself how to attract rather than promote. It's just so hard not to tell everybody how great this program is working for me. I will find a way; I am an addict after all. Good to meet you all.
Peace,
Zoe
Yes I go to AA. I am also on step 8 and making admends when it comes up, like with my parents. I am right there with you. I had been sober for almost 4 years and slipped up on my program. I relapsed after a dental surgery. I am now just over a month sober, but I have fully thrown myself into AA. Doing all of the suggestions. As long as you are doing the things we are taught to do through the fellowship you will stay sober! Hang in there, if you ever need to talk I am available. Well kind of available, I am on a cruise, but will be home tomorrow, so if I don't respond very quickly it is becuase I can't, but will ASAP!
There are 12 step people here. One that comes to mind is jenny8575309. Drop her a PM. There are others. Start reading profiles of people you see posting. The 12 stepers usually lay it out in their profiles, journals etc.
It's very nice to meet you and thank you for joining the forum. You have a lot of clean time in. You can be of some great assistance to those who are just starting out. This is the chit-chat side of things. If you go to the top of the page and hit the Substance Abuse Addiction Community link (in blue) it will take you to the other forum we all hang out on. That one deals with addiction questions about CT, WD's, tapering, addiction problems etc. So, for general talking this is it. For addiction topics we use the other forum.
Hope this helps. Look forward to seeing you are. If you want, you can post your question on the other forum. It is definatley related to addiction and recovery. You may get more answers over there.
Stay strong,
Greatgreebo
Welcome!!!
Yes, there are some folks that do work the steps here. It is not mentioned very much since the fellowship is a program of attraction rather than promotion, but it is so good to hear that you are working an aftercare program. Hope to see you around.
Please keep posting.
Welcome to this humble abode!:) I know that others are in NA & or AA. They will chime in too.
