I'm wondering if any of you also watch movies about addiction in an effort to understand the process. I just watched a movie, "Most High", and it really made me think how easily I might have just given up and succumbed to drugs as a way of escaping pain and disappointment. The movie is about a really nice guy who suffers a series of profound and painful losses and is incidentally introduced to the world of Meth use in a very vulnerable emotional state. It's gritty and doesn't side step the moral decadence (which I couldn't stand to watch), but that was an important element to understanding this man's decline, how he was seduced into the meth scene.
This is just one of several movies I have watched in recent months and I've taken something valuable away from each one. Would any of you like to share your own favorites and how you related to them or any insight you took away from them?
