Go to a feed store antibiotics are cheap...so are the needles
What a fighter!! Will keep PRAYING!!
Hey my friend. I am so sorry that I didn't post last night, I was babying a sick bf. Can you go to a feed store, or even Tractor supply store? They have antibiotic that you can buy without a script from a vet. They sell it to be given in an intramuscular injection. They also sell syringes to give it with. I did this for my kitty and was able to get a huge 150ml bottle of Penicillin and 6 syringes for $14. It's 1 ml per 100 lbs of animal body weight. If you could find Tetracycline, it would be even better because it is a broad spectrum antibiotic that treats all sorts of different cooties. (BTW, thank Miss Heather for this info. She's the one that sent me to the feed store in the first place.) Please check into this. The shots of antibiotic will be much more effective and work much more quickly than the oral. I am sending love , prayers and positive energy to you, your horse, and your family. Hang in there!!
No Iv antibiotics but we have a topical he has on as well as pills where going to crush up and put with some grain
Will look forward to a pic of Ari, Zero....did you give him iv antibiotics as well as topical? I'm sure you and your wife are on top of it... sending love and prayers your way~
Sorry for all the miss spelling very tired right now but time to get caffine in me I still got the night to keep close eye on him
Sounds like he's a fighter and will pull through and that's great! I love horses!!
His name is Ari he's an Egypian aribian(however you spell that lol) horse one of the last of his kind. he had his brother also...but never get aribians they are main he bite my wifes arm and tore a good chunck of skin flapping, also got my twice once on my neck and next under my arm not fun both where my fault for not watching out though plus I was high then you know how that goes. but he was the sweetest horse when we first got him always checking on us and the other horses (i'm crying just thinking about it) but he has good odds with us...stupid vets just wanting to put him down and not even try ...he was all there will be too much bacteria in there and hes going to get sick and die but we know what to do it was only me this am at 4:30 I jumped up freed him and then assested him had to wait for more light to see the extend of it as soon as I did I antiobioticed it and wrapped it and he is still standing over 12 hours later so..looking good but the next 3 days are most important right now need lots of love his way and prayers... ill post a pic of him too
**should say** "I was a huge"
Hope he's ok, Zero! Thanks for the update...I've been thinking about him all day.....have a super soft spot in my heart for horses.
s a HUGE horse lover at age 10....had ALL things horses for that particular bday...a horse cake, horse books, figurines for my room, a horseback riding
party and my parents gave me horseback riding lessons. I was SURE I wanted to be a horse rancher when I was 10 yrs old...haha....I was gonna move to Texas, never get married, (except to my horses) and never wear a bra...bahahahahaha! Needless to say, none of that ever materialized....but I LOVE horses...especially love to watch them run and play with each other in a free, open pasture. They are one of God's majestic creations~
Hope yours will be ok? What's his name?
