HEY!! My name is Heather, I am SOBER, 84 days to be exact!!
I am just here to tell everyone if I can do it anyone can...When I first quit due to the fact that I had been using SOMETHING from weed to coke to pills to cutting etc since I was 12...I dont remember using SOMETHING to numb my pain and calm my head..
So now I am on a journey to *not be the person I was* but find who I am!! reinvent myself...
I was broken, sad, scared, hurt, ashamed, alone, ugly, flawed, even suicidal...MOSTLY TERRIFIED
Then I started going to church and I heard this song I encourage EVERYONE to listen to...
The title is Hello My Name Is
and it showed me I can do ANYTHING and I can BE HAPPY...Guess what you can too!!
I still dont know who I am, I am still sad and broken at times..Still flawed
but i am learning and trying and Thats good enough for me...

I found this quote and I feel maybe this is why I am sad I am grieving for the death of the old me ""All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another."

I'm grateful I came on tonight and read your story!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!  
I have a beautiful very lost daughter that is being eaten up with alcohol.  She lives with my Dad and he is enabling her.  I can't pull her away or convince her that she needs help.  She had to be put in a coma a month ago because she took a bottle of Tylenol and vodka.  Her blood alcohol was well over 500.  She almost died and the second day they had her out of the coma I went up to see her in intensive care, she was sitting up laughing with my Dad.  I wanted to die!  How do I help her?  I don't want to bury my baby girl!
