LOL! Yeah, because I can promise you that in our store, those do get miscounted some. It's hard to spend 8 hours a day counting in 5s!! Your eyes start crossing. ;)
I am just grateful all i have to get is my BP meds and they come already prepackaged.
We have a huge counter that we're behind, so customers can't even see what we're counting or how many times we count what. I do know that mistakes can be made, though. We have no problem with customers counting before they leave. In fact, we encourage it if there may be second guessing from the customer. So, I'm sure your pharmacy won't have a problem with it.
You're 100% correct, count them right there! I use Walgreens and it may be there policy to count twice but I've been there waiting for 20 minutes and I don't see anybody counting twice. I got shorted 3 times on my sleep meds and when I said something they gave me 1! Now I make it a point to go inside open it right in front of them and count every script I get no matter what it is!
Good advice for all, a mistake once I can understand, but 3 months in a row, I don't think so, and they weren't that concerned. I've been a customer there for a long time, I have no reason to lie since its 1 pill a day but they didn't even apologize.
Shelby is absolutely right. They r very busy.BUT LIKE i said I have seen them NOT COUNT THEM TWICE.Count them there.
@Shelly I mean NO disrespect at all u obviously do ur job&so does the other staff there but unfortunately there r many places who dnt.
Like Shelly said though once u walk out the door ur on ur own.
I am a Pharmacy Tech and I don't know how other places are, but with those types of meds, we have to double count them to ensure the amount is correct before we dispense them. Once you leave the store with them, it is out of the pharmacy's hands.
good tp I have been shorted more then once the pharmacys are over worked and bizzy this is the only way you will get all your meds if you ask them they will count them in front of you...........Gnarly
