I remember reading a recent article that said someone tried to arrange a protest in California over gas prices. The idea was if for two weeks, everyone filled up thier tanks when the where half empty instead of fully empty, it would drive gas prices back down (it was actually a feasible idea).
It was a great idea and hardly ANYONE did it. Everyone said it was too big a hassle and they couldn't be bothered unless they were SURE others were doing it.
Remember this the next time you're upset over gas prices.
The news media certainly paints a grim picture and then we see it in the prices we pay for everything!!
Good news though, I have been looking for a new job and have had many interfiews so someone is making money and hiring. I think there is hope out there, it's just hard to see right now.
I second the Calgon motion-LOL!!
I hear you guys loud & clear on this. I used to not worry about going places but since we are a single income family now....I try to run all our errands in one day and really map out a route! My best friend lives 45minutes away so I don't get to see her much b/c I drive an older car which I plan on keeping so I can be a stay home wife & mom and it doesn't get great gas mileage. I have steadily watched the price of groceries and diapers etc increase to the point I just want to cry sometimes....I may have to go back to work just so we can make it due to the increases....it's crazy! I try not think about it... and we live in a part of the country where gas isn't as high as some places...$3.89/gallon.
hey i hear you i live in perth australia we are currently paying between $1.50 to $1.65 per litre of petrol/gas. food, rent, interest rates, housing prices everyday living is becoming so expensive that people will start getting desperate and our government here need to open there ******* eyes an really see whats going on. you watch the crime rate will soar through the roof drugs will become cheaper and easier to get which is good for us addicts the suicide rate will rise stress and depression will affect everyone there will be more homeless people no jobs available because people are having to work 4 jobs just to keep food on the table and a roof over your head, our children will end up raising their younger siblings because the parents have to work 4 jobs and yet fuel prices still rise food costs still rise, the health system will become even more jam packed, the police will loose control because there will be not enough officers and to many criminals, basically we are all ****** and imagine what it will be like in 5 yrs time they predict that in perth australia we will be paying $2.00 or more per ltr for petrol/gas.Iam 26 i have 4 precious boys and my husband and i constantly worry about the future and what our boys will have to do to survive it's a load of ******** and the ******* government need to step in. also what happens in the US directly affects what happens in australia and a believe we should have a vote in the election of the new president.
