Under investigation?

Is it possible to be under investigation now, for something you did illegally to get your pills more than 10 months ago?

I think yes. I would imagine it would depend on how the person got the pills and what means illegally they were gotten.  For instance, maybe someone works for a physician and they call in a script for themselves for narcotics without the doctor's approval.  Then the pharmacy calls the doctor to ask about the script and finds out and calls the police.  Then yes, they could investigate it and arrest someone 10 months later.

I wish you friend the best of luck!  It would be sad if someone is now clean and it is now coming back to haunt them.

Thank you anyone who can help.

Notice that I didn't say "I".  This may be a friend-member here who fears snooping under-cover police.  I've agreed to let him/her go through me.

Would you please PM me?  This really is serious.  Thank you so much.

From personal experience, I know of someone who was investigated for over a year on illegal drugs (weed) but it was a continual thing, non stop...Laws have changed alot in the last decade so I don't know...give us something to go on and maybe we can tell you...doctor shopping I would say yes, forging scrips, yes!  selling pillz, probably not but I'm not a cop...I think with selling they have to make an arrest within 10 months but I could be wrong and it has to be an ongoing thing to make a case...the problem with most arrests is that criminals have more rights and attorneys can do wonders, it's not about justice it's about money...if you have enough money you can get out of just about anything....that's the American way sorry to say.  I am in no way condoning illegal activities just giving what I have seen happen in my life time.

I would have to so most assuredly yes, regardless of where you are posting from.  Legal stuff obviously varies from nation to nation (or state to state), but it seems unlikely that there is any sort of statute of limitations shorter than 10 months. :)

At the risk of sounding trite, the reality of said investigation would of course have a great deal to do with what it was you did that was illegal.  For instance, if, 10 months ago, you jay-walked in order to meet someone to get pills, then I doubt that the cops are going to be coming through the windows with tactical gear on, looking for an arrest.  On the other hand, if you killed someone and took their pills, then I might be inclined to worry, yes.  Sorry about being facetious, but I am just illustrating my point that it would probably have a lot to do with what it was that you did.

Hope that helps. good luck!  ray
