Vicodin Withdrawl

I've been taking about 12 Vicodin ES tablets for about a year now. Would I be able to withdraw myself, without the help of a doctor?

I don't recommend trying to do it on your own. I thought I could and a year turned into 5 years, I kept thinking "I'll quit this day (name date) and I'll detox and stuff by myself." But, no, I kept feeling so much pain that I just had to have one or two to hold me over. Then three days later it was 4, then 5, etc, and I would be back where I started. Don't do this alone, because you're chances of getting and STAYING clean are not all that great. I told myself I was going to quit a year ago, but that never happened, I've been clean for about a month and a half now, and I could never even go that long on my own. I needed help, and so I got it. And in my opinion, every addict needs help. If you think you can, and if you have will power to the extreme, then go for it. But it's much easier if you get help. God Bless, and I hope you figure out what it is that you need to do. =}

yes, with discipline an tapering down, you can do it.  It certainly is no easy, but can be done.  You  have to slowly take less & less.  If U have someone to hold your pills and stick to it.......figure out the reasons why U are doing this, and think hard about how you were before you started this mess and get determined.  U can do it.  I personally feel that figuring out why your doing it and coming to grips with it, it most important than just quitting............and think it is key to keeping sober.

If you have any questions......please send me a message.
