Winter Blows!

I am not sure what the heck happened, but this past week it has been snowing, raining and windy. Two weeks ago I was hitting a few golf balls and now we have over a foot of snow and it's still coming down ugggg. For those of you in the northern U.S states or Canada, are you getting hit with this snow too? I heard it even snowed in NM last week wtf. I do not like winter, maybe up until Christmas the snow is nice, but here it stays till March usually. What is the weather like where you live right now?

For those of you that are still in shorts, S C R E W  YOU, haha. Stay warm everyone:)

Well gizzy........since i dont live far from you you pretty much know what i think!!!  We are in a wind chill advisory thru today.  It is a crisp -35 below right now.  Not that cold actually compared to what it normally is.  I bet we see some -80 belows this year.  I was hanging clothes out while you were hitting golf balls remember?  I think Kim described me as a crazy biotch!!!  We wont see the ground till March or April now either.  We have over a foot on the ground already, had our first blizzard, only thing we havent had yet is our traditional ice storm!!  Why do we live where we do?  We are nuts, plain and simple!!!!!!!!!!!              mp

no snow here...had a few dustings that promptly melted. Its been up and down a lot here. First too warm for the season, then plummted below normal with windchills -10 below briefly, then light snow, then high winds, and most recently heavy RAIN which didnt soak in cuz the ground is frozen so we still have huge puddles everywhere now and i hate it! I dont know what to with the dog!!! everytime i take him out to potty and exercise he comes back in looking like a Mud Monster! I cant keep bathing him 3-5x a day LOL.

It's 25 degrees but feels like 13. Not much snow here in Northern Indiana where my daughter lives, but in Michigan where I live just 4 miles from Lake Michigan there's snow. Snow is beautiful, but wind and gloomy skys really make winter hard to bear. And it lasts sooooo long!

I don't think I'll get to go to FL this winter for a break either. Bummer.

What do you mean even in NM? We get many feet of snow here every year, or at least we used to before the Global Warming Hoax perpetrated by those nasty scientists changed our weather. I can see two ski areas from here and if I go up to the top of my property I can see a couple more. How about Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Everything here is covered in ice and it gets dark before I can accomplish anything during the day. I put up Christmas lights to try to mitigate the darkness but I'm getting so depressed by winter and it's just starting. I'm glad global warming isn't real. What with the lights and the electric heaters running until I light a fire and even the extension cord I ran to the doghouse last week to plug in an electric blanket for the dogs when it got below zero, we are using a power plant load of electricity.

Yeah and they seem to be getting longer and harder. And I like the cool climate at altitude. I had the window open next to my bed until it got below 20 - long after I was making fires for my wife. (You know the Paul Simon song? Although it never led to "Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye," for us.)  But the short days always get to me. I think I'm going to go buy even more Christmas lights. We'll buy electricity instead of presents this year.

Oh yes, yes. They have such beautiful new lights this year. They are selling out quickly though. I saw shelves stripped of all the led lights - sold clean out. I think I will go to town and see if I can find someplace that still has a good selection. My favorites are the blue icicle lights outside and the multi-colored, multi-function ones indoors.

I have always loved xmas lights. I took videos of them in our town here the past few nights just driving around. They are on every other house, it's so cool. Some go overboard though putting lights on every single thing possible and one house had christmas music playing and their house lit up the sky haha. Christmas is my favourite holiday by far:)

The answer to how we live here is right there in lizzie lou's post. I've never needed an air conditioner and I will take the cold over ever having 98% humidity.nd the Christmas lights are so pretty shining on the snow.
