a new med

hello, i saw my dr. today and he gave me a new med, it is called NEURONTIN 300MG 3X DAILY,  he said it would help with my pain and to start weeing off of th oxycontin, the generic name for this is called GABATENITN has anyone heard of this stuff, if so does it work??? i did do some research on it and it doesnt seem too bad, but anything is better than these oxy's,,,i cant wait to be off them completly, my weekend was horrible,,,i tried CT and thought i was gonna die....so i was weak and went back to my oxy's....oh im praying this stuff will help...any help on this new med would be greatly appriciated....thanx..pebblez

i agree with eagle, my dr put me on that for nerve pain.. i took for over a month and it did nothing. some people love it some dont.. we have to remember we ask everyone about certin meds or treatment for more info on them. but only you know your own body, and how you react to certin meds.. ask away for questions but remember to LISTEN TO YOUR OWN BODY.. let me know, how its working for you.. diane

neurontin is an anti seizure drug or at least thats why they tried me on it.....i think it is also used to treat pain...i was allergic to it and almost died form that reaction so be careful.......i have heard it does work for those who can take it though..i too was addicted to oc's..i quit c/t and it was hell to say the least.....if i had to do it over again i would probably go with suboxone.......if the neurontin helps go for it..why suffer when ther si something that can help u know......love u and god bless u......
