my son's girlfriend smoked pot and took vicodin the entire time she was pregnant. The vicodin was prescribed by her OBGYN for migraines. I voiced my opinion several times but was told as long as the dr was prescribing the vicodin she would be fine. Needless to say, he was born with a bid head, small body and hooked on vicodin and pot, he also suffers from asthma. when I was pregnant with my children you couldnt take a tylenol, you just dealt with the pain. And you had a natural childbirth.

Well, if she stays addicted, you can expect the baby to become addicted. If she gets help and quits, the baby may have a good chance at being ok. I don't know what really happens to all baby's when the mother is addicted, I had a friend who was addicted to oxy about 6 of the 9 months she was preggers, she got help and quit, and the baby was actually ok. So I am not really sure, just as tripped out said, everyone is different. Trying to urge her to get off is what is best for that little baby. I mean, she needs help. That baby needs help. I am sure she would be devastated if something were wrong with the baby. I am pretty sure that some opiates, the more stronger ones are class C drugs, which means they don't know what will happen to a baby if taken while pregnant and its not been tested and therefore they DO NOT recommend taking these drugs while pregnant. So I would again, urge her to get the helps he needs. For both her and her baby..I will pray for her and for the baby and for your family..
