we would send care packages to my nephew monthly, you wouldn't believe what we found. toothbrushes with the toothpaste already on them. we also send at least one case of Roma Noodles, now that was a luxury. The smallest of things brightened his day and of course they all shared what they each got.
You can also adopt a soldier, I did it for almost a year. It is a commitment and will cost you 30-50 dollars a month. You would be amazed at what makes them so happy over there.......a simple tube of chapstick and some bubble gum a bar of soap, and a bag of beef jerky and they feel blessed. I loved doing it, but it can be a commitment anywhere from 6-18 months.....
If anyone is interested contact me and I will give you the info. or you can probably just google it.
Nauty...........
Always looking for even the smalllest way to make a difference. Tahnks. Madlyn

Great idea...Thanks so much for posting that...I'll be making out my cards this weekend.
Thanks for that info. After you posted this morning I went and found my Christmas cards I had left over from last year and I sent 12 of them.
Great idea!
What a great thing to do. I think i will send a couple of them. If we all would send one card a piece we could put a smile on many soldiers faces this year.
Lets all keep this one going........Thanks scaredmom!!!
having a hubby in the army that has been to iraq that bring tears to my eyes .
What a tremendous idea!! There will be card going out from my family to one of our Troops - - I do know Walter Reed pretty well myself - right down to the closest McDonalds - - - - Its starting to be that Season where we think of others quite a bit - - - and no one deserves a little Christmas Cheer any more than one of our people in the Service.............
