I have been taking 20mg of diazapam (valium) for years. My pain dr wants me to stop. I can't get an appt with dr for another month. Can I start tapering myself off the drug?? I tried taking 15mg. today seems to be going fine. How long do I remove 5mg and up it to removing 10mg a day. Do I need weeks or days for this process? ANY help is appreciated--Thanks for any advise---gail
