polydrug abuser wthdrawl always wins

52 year old male, non-smoker & non drinker, not over -weight and eat fairly healthy.  It's all downhill from there.
i currently (and for past 3 years) have been addicted toamphetamines (adderall 150 mg daily) The benzodiazepine Klonopin 8 mg a daiy, just quit suboxone 24 mg a day by transitioning to a dilaudid 56 mg daily + oxycontin 480 mg for pain.  I also take catapress 2.4mg daily + Neurontin 1500mg daily. (these two drugs help manage the crasy stimulating effects of the adderall once its anti-depressant effects are gone and I am left with the bone jarring blast to my sympathetic nervous system which cases m heart to race, bp  to elevate and amxiety to get severe.  I use these so I don't let the benzo dose kreep up.  I know the HELL of benzo withdrawl first hand when that is the only drug you have to detox from.  I have lost wife of 26 years and 5 kids, job is on chopping block not to mention my life.  I just cannot get past the horrific protracted withdrawls. I have tapered and clawed for 4 months clean but just the continual insomnia and agitation/panic from the benzos drove me insane, I canot tolerate another physical hell like that nor do I have the emotional will.  Is there any newerbetter methods==I am out of gas.  but if i dont quiti know im good as gone.  Any positive helpful suggestion would be treated as a blessing from God.  Thank you in advance.

Bear - I am almost 60 and a have a history just  like yours (!!!) - - Started flirting with heroin during Vietnam and just never got around to stopping........then when enough became enough I did cold turkey a cocktail of high power drugs.........I also agree that you probably should have the Pro's help you out if you at all possibly can.  I tried both sub and methadone with out much success........but I did manage to use that time too taper down far enough to finally jump for my life.  And I have made it past one year and am into my second now................the primary thing is that you can do this and you want to do this. I wont accept any excuses considering where I came from. All I really know is that it can be done once you are fed up enough with the situation to just get mad and fight it! - - - -  Best of luck to you brother

Hi Bear ---  Let me tell you something you probably already know -- you are taking one HUGE dose of narcotics --- 56 mg Dilaudid and on top of that - 480 mg of Oxy ---Wow!!!   I don't think anyone should advise you to do anything without total medical supervision on detoxing and withdrawing from this amount of Opiates - especially considering the other drugs you are taking --- This is one for the 'professionals' and it is my opinion that you need to be 'in patient' for this -- it could be dangerous when you consider that you are also addicted to benzos --  Man, what a combination.  Hey, you are at a good place and you have the right idea to get clean --- You CAN do this --- please just do your research, get some medical help, and stay alive -- Getting clean is probably the best thing you will have ever done.  Please stay and post on this site -- many many others can benefit from your expereince.  All the best.

I have also been thru benzo withdrawl, no fun..I was on Neurontin for several years too, that one I had to get off of, it did help me at the time with nerve damage, but ins. refused to pay for it as it was 300 for 250 pills back then.  Easy for me to say no to that one then.  I don't know about oxy, or dilaudid, never took those, but know they are really heavy duty drugs.  I would go talk to your doctor, if you are ready to get control of your life, tell him what your going thru, see if he can help somehow!!  Good Luck to you bear
