how long does it take to get over pain killer addition

Okay this may sound weird but I have a coworker (for real not me) anyway she has been off painkillers for over 2 months and says she is still going though with draws of thowing up, I guess i need to inform you all she is a hyrocodriac (not spelled right sorry) anyway her family is fed up she cant figure out why we are all at the point where she needs to start living again, she is okay some of the time but when she hasnt had attention for a while she runs to the bathroom and says she pukes, her daughter also work with us and she tells us she sleeps all the time she goes home early, We want to know if it last this long or what, she is having problem with her marrage and we are wondering if that could cause the up set stomach, and she up to a week ago could go though a case of coke cola in one day, but has decided to stop that.   I guess I really want to know can she still have to symptons of vomiting this long after stoping the meds,  I feel bad getting tired of her illness because in the past when one cowork get sick she has the same illness later that week.  Im a good friend but its hard seeing her act this way. can anyone tell me, because i have never been addicted to anything and not sure if its normal for her still to act this way. I personal think she is depressed but dont think she even discused that with the drs at all.  HELP!!

One of the symptoms of w/d is serious depression. My x wife, although she didn't have a drug problem, She used to throw up whenever she was stressed.

Depending how long your girlfriend was on pain killers and which ones she was taking. After two months, she should be over the physical w'd but the depression can last for months. She should see her Dr. and get on an anti depressant. You might want to seek out some after care like attending  NA meetings of a regular basis, It might help her to know that she's not the only one going through this. Get her on this sight so she can get some good information from the other members here.

It is possible that she is going through post withdrawals but, most likely she is doing through depression or she is still using.  I know this disease is very selfish and, we as addicts suck the life out of the ones we love but, try your best to be understanding.  Addiction is a life long disease.  Two months clean is actually not that long.  Although she should be very proud of how far she has come it is obvious she needs to seek treatment for her mental health/substance abuse issues.  Just because an addict is not actively using does not mean they are not still an addict.  It sounds like the best thing you can do as a friend is just simply letting her know you are there for her, and are concerned for her.  Let her know that you are proud of how far she has come, but are worried that she is still unhappy.  Your co-worker/friend is crying out for help with her irratic behaviors.  The vomiting, and sleeping is her way of self-destructing without the drugs.  She needs help, as most of us addicts do.  good luck- always here if you need to talk :)
