58 days clean but itching badly

please can anyone shed some light here; I was addicted to hydrocodone for 15 years and have been clean for 58 days (8 weeks), but at night I get this horrible itching all over that doesn't let me sleep.  Husband is in the same bed and he doesn't have this problem.  We even went out and bought a new mattress and still.

Your idea to drink water is a good one, and I agree with the liver test, just in case. Just a warning, once I used something herbal to detox (not from drug use...it was just after having a baby), and I broke out in HORRIBLE hives... so I think gentle is best, just water, maybe green tea, and topical creams and benadryl ti ease through it.

I have always had very itchy skin, even before my addiction.  I will try some of these creams but will get tested.  God Bless you and thanks!

good theory, I barely experienced withdrawals and this just started about a week ago, another thing is that during my detox I didn't drink much water and still don't.  Thank you so much, God Bless you too.

It COULD be related to the detox somehow, but like laurel said, it wouldn't be something commonly seen that far in.  I would also recommend you seeing your doctor, having a thorough check up that includes bloodwork.  There could be a medical reason that may or may not be related to the detox that is causing the itching.  Do you get hives, or a rash or any other kind of skin eruption with the itching?

Laurel had a good point with the liver. I know that if you have liver damage/problems one symptom is terribly itchy skin so seeing a dr. for a blood test would be a good idea. Hopefully it's just an allergic reaction but better safe than sorry.

I have two theories about that. 1 is that a lot of people to get the restless legs? Maybe you're restless legs is just showing up as itching, cause it is at night. The other idea I have is that with the skin being the largest or organ on your body, maybe since you were on them so long, the residue is exiting through your pores. God bless.

that is not common.. i mean, i have been here for a long time and have heard of itching soon after detoxing and some bouts of it but every night and after two months.. humm, do you have  any rashes or patches of dry skin, anything  ? if you don't have any, you could check your liver to see if it comes from it.. i don't know what to say, sorry ... all the best, clearheaded, it has to be really annoying
