Hi Max! Half a year almost! Wow. I know you have worked very hard. A torn ACL and the surgery for it can be quite painful. As an OR RN I really do know. I commend your success so far bearing the pain. After the surgery, you will need pain relief. I sense your concern about your clean time, and I just wanted to say that the post op period, provided you take your meds AS precribed for 2 weeks or less in no way effects your clean time IMO. This is a legitimate reason, what opiates are really used for. Believe it or not the best med for you post op would probably be Vicodin 7.5 or better. Percocet is too addicting and tramadol is too hard to get off of. After 2 weeks, switch over to an NSAID. It won't be so bad, as long as you follow a plan and keep your mental stuff focused and clean. You can do this Max and it doesn't have to set you back. Good luck with the surgery and congratulations on your 6 months!
Trams are a synthetic opiate with a antidepressant like effect, This is what makes them so difficult to come of. My elder dog Bonnie was given these and had seizures I threw them out. My thoughts and empathy go out to you Madmax.. lesa
