7 days clean

Hey guys. So I've been off vicodin for 7 days now. My physical withdrawl symptoms are almost all gone. I have occasional RLS still, and definitely have been battling sleeplessness as well. More than anything now though, I have a real mental battle going on. I have no motivation to do anything, and I really feel like I'm having a hard time enjoying anything. Is there any relief for this, or am I just going to be a big dull dud for the rest of my days? I'm scared that vicodin made me the fun person that I used to be, and now I have nothing going for me. I know that sounds stupid, but has anyone experienced this before? It's really getting me down. Thanks in advance, hope you guys are all doing well and sticking to your plans.

Love.

Congrats on a week clean. It is such a big adjustment at first, not only to our bodies, but also our mind. Drugs start to rewire our brains when using and it takes some time to heal, but we do:). Everyone is different, but my first month was a nightmare, but I am not saying your gonna feel like this for a month, things gradually improve with time. For many of us at first, things we used to love to do don't seem as exciting either when we just get off drugs, but that changes too.

The amino acid protocal in the health pages can really help also, worth checking out. Your doing great, keep your guard up.

hey girlee ...congrads on 7 days your right about most of the phycial stuff being gone
but the mental crash is normal when you first come off narcotics the first 2 weeks all I could do was lay on the couch and lissing to music with my eyes closed..I was exhausted from no sleep had anxiety breaking out my chest...was basically miserable
but as time goes by the body and mind do heal I just wish I could speed up the process
but today im 2 days shy of 60 days clean and all is much better I still have some
restless nights and a down day here and there but all and all things are slowly getting better...so just hang in there you will begin to feel better as the days go by it just takes some time...the old you is still inside you its just struggling with a detox now
my drug consolor calls it the transition period and it is different for everyone but
eventually you make it back to the other side....good luck and again congrads on 7 days you on your way back now.....Gnarly

a week!!! nice job seriously...Your doing great just hold in there....the mental part can be the toughest part about getting clean, at some moments we seriously think we are going crazy at some point...I know for me I would think about suicide every 10 minutes. Dont worry it DOES go away with time, everything goes away at some point, you WILL return back to normal. Cravings can last a very long time but they are very toned down, and when this happens dont sit around and think about it just get up and do something. Have you read the article PAWS yet??? If you havent please do. Much love

What a difference 7 days make. You are sounding much more positive than when you first posted.Your energy will come back and you still are a fun girl. You just think you are not because the drugs dulled everything in your life and now you will feel true and raw feelings.Good to see you posting.

Very happy to see you in the game still.  I was wondering how you were making out.  No, you will not be a big dull dud for the rest of your days!!!!

It's almost like learning to have fun again without pills but it does happen.  Fatigue and fun don't go well together either.  When your energy comes back so will the old fun YOU.

Hang in there, isn't it nice not counting pills???  You are also now inspiring others to do what you are doing.

Great job, the fun you is just around the corner, very proud of you.

Wow, it's been about 7 years since I've been clean for 7 days. I gotta say you are a stronger person than I am right now, I just opened this acount to get inspiration from other people, and your story really touched me. Thank you for being brave and helping others, the world needs more people like you. I'm 26 and I look up to you!

Congrats on 7 days!!!  That is great!!!  Gotta give your body some time to get used to being clean.  We abused our bodies for a long time and it will take some time to get better.  Try and get up and move around, go for a walk, listen to music, clean just get busy.  What about aftercare?  That is something we cant stress enough.  Very vita to our recovery success.  Are you taking any type of vitamins?

Hello, and congrats on 7 days! Trust me, you WILL be the fun person someday soon again, it really does come back after a while. Unfortunately it can take a long time to happen, I think that's what made so many of us relapse so many times. Just remember, it will get better, hopefully a little better every day and it will be SO worth it. Try listening to music, or anything that made you happy pre-drugs. I used to love shopping (for shoes mostly), and when I was on drugs for 5 years I didn't care about shopping anymore, now that I've been clean for 5 months...shoes are my drug! Lol It is much better than drugs, do whatever makes you happy, shop, read, exercise, listen to music. All the natural highs! Congrats again, and hang in there, 7 days clean is awesome! ♥
