36 Hours of No Methadone!!
I finally kinda did it! Im done with methadone, after 1 year of tapering down to 1mg I can finally start moving on, geez its taken forever to get off this, but maybe that will be to my advantage? Today is the first day that I woke up & took nothing! I had planed on today being my last dose but thought to myself, what difference does one day make? So Im done! & Guess what? Im happy!!! Im happy because I can finally breathe a sigh of relief that part of my journey has ended. I,ll keep everyone informed on how Im doing tomarow, but I dont think its gonna be that bad, I thought I was gonna freak out this morning not having my big 1mg, but Im at peace with it. Good work. I can't believe you stayed on 1 mg.. I was lucky if I got down to 5 before I was done. I think you will do well.
I have read your posts and watched you struggle...that is so great and I am sure a big relief to finally be done! I am so happy for you and keep posting so u can get the support that you need...you are a part of this forum and I hope you stick around

Congrats and it is great you feel good today. I think your story is a hell an accomplishment to not be feeling withdrawal.
I am so happy for you! I have been taking Methadone for the last 7 years, on 30 mg a day and I so far I have been too afraid to stop it. At least I have never gone up on my dosage though I am tempted all the time to ask my doc as it does not work as well for me anymore at the dose that I am on - I just pray that the day will come I will have your bravery. I know you must feel like a ton of weight has been lifted from your shoulder, congrats! Stay strong!

Congratulations!!! That is such an accomplishment. I do have a question, and hope you don't mind. I have always wondered this about Methadone, but never wanted to ask a Dr. LOL. I understand that it comes in pill form and liquid form. What is the difference between the prescribing. Such as, why would a Dr. prescribe you the pill form instead of the liquid form, or why would they prescribe the liquid instead of the pill? I understand Hydrocodone comes the same way. I know they prescribe it in liquid form, the actual name is Hycet, and then you have the regular pill form. Just curious....

Congratulations Penelope!! I quit mine at 6mg just stopped going and it was not bad. I had a little discomfort for the first month or so but nothing like pain pill withdrawal. Insomnia is probably the worst side effect of no methadone, but it will pass. I would take tylenol PM and it worked somewhat. But really many congrtaulations to have those liquid handcuffs finally off, don't look back keep moving forward cause life is so much sweeter without that bourdon on your mind!!

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!! YOU will be ok..You might have a little discomfort in a day or two,,(thats kinda how that works with methadone..I will pray not though..I am soooo very happy for you!!!
