I knew you would be back by kick off!!!
Glad to hear you are doing well!!!
I'll send you a pm on my experience with it a few years back OP... It appears to be a drug that does wonders for some, but is a nightmare for others...Sounds like your one it agree's with so glad to hear it helps you. Dav
I'll bring ice cream!! This is so great!!
My best to you and Ash! I've missed you around here but it's wonderful you're doing so well!!
All the best! xo
@Dav125 What's wrong w/cymbalta?I take it for depression+a cool bonus it sometimes does help w/my fibro?I notice I have less than half as much pain from it than b4I started taking it(not n the places injured that originally got me on pain meds but my arms, legs, hands, feet). It works amazing for my depression too. What's the problem w/it?PLEASE let me know cause ur the only person who I've seen say anything bad about it&now I'm really worried like I missed something real important when I did research.
Dav,
You are 100% right the big pharma push oxy to the doctors saying that it was the answer to chronic pain sufferers NOT!!! The problem is that most doctors are being educated (marketed) by the pharmaceutical companies trying to push their products. Purdue actually was sued in a class action suit for telling doctors that oxys weren't addictive if taken as prescribed (again a marketing ploy). What needs to happen is the doctors need to research the drugs they prescribe and not rely on the pharma reps for their info.
As far as tramadol again the pharma reps tout that it is not addictive and it's non-narcotic (another lie). Tramadol is a synthetic opioid which albeit not as strong as oxys but still an addictive opioid.
Rick
Your a true inspiration Rick. I just can't believe how many days it truly has been. I can't claim the number of days you have, will never catch you, but know days in the right direction void of oxycontin are days to be cherished.. And that certainly is a good thing..
Oxy has to be one of the most evil things they turned loose on the public considering they diverted it from being designed to help comfort the cancer patient in Hospice at the beginning..People who were on a countdown of days remaining..Then did a big market push toward whoever it could be prescribed too.. Or should I say big Pharma saw a huge financial windfall should they promote it in the realm of any pain patient that walked in a Dr's door and pushed Dr's to prescribe it for "any" pain management..
And if I might add,,thank God they reformulated it in an attempt to contain the monster it created on the street... Had they not, I would probably still be stuck in that realm...
The new one's caused strange allergic reactions with me. Forced me to change course..God does work in ways we don't always understand...And thank God for this site too concerning two other items of interest. Had I not been here to learn of the true nature of Tramadol and Cymbalta, I would have landed up fighting with both once ending the nightmare with the one.
My Dr wanted to switch me to it as he firmly believed (no lie), that tramadol was a non addicting and a great substitute which I could take without concern.
And the cymbalta would help with post depression as well as give limited pain relief...Hah! is all I have to say..Told my Dr he had been blindsided in believing that..And in my last visit a few months back? He acknowledged to me that apparently I was right when he started researching patients he had who he had prescribed both to and when they asked to get away from it, they had all kinds of problems trying to break free. The pattern of "not quite being provided" complete info on what side effects might come from these drugs appeared to him as more than coincidence once he took a closer look.
Wishing you the best in days to come...Dav
