bmdad is 2 yrs clean~~~

I remember when you came to the forum.  I was taken back by your strength and determination to fight this with everything you had.  It was so refreshing.  Along the way we developed a friendship which i hold very sacred.  We have spent countless hours on this forum helping those struggling and we have spent many hours laughing in the cafe!  You have stood strong thru all the trials and tribulations life has thrown at you.  On this day and everyday i wish you continued success in your recovery.  Congrats on 2 plus years, you so deserve it.         sara

I grew up Army, you Marines...We will hash that out some other time!!  lol

And one final comment...I thought your anniversary was early March(remember i am 50 now!) but thanks to sandstone she was on top of it!

I first came here in January 1st of 2008 after I decided that my New Year's resolution was going to get off the evil pills. I lasted a couple months and stopped posting. That was a huge mistake. Even though I relapsed, if I would've stuck around, I'm sure I would be further along in my recovery. Learn from my mistake. Even if you relapse, do not quit posting and make sure you stick around. Nobody here will look down on you. Sometimes the simplest of words is all it takes to get that feeling of "I'm going to do this".

I know for a fact that I couldn't have done it without everyone here. No matter what time of day or night it is there is always someone here to listen. Only a fellow addict can understand what we are going through. They understand the highs and the lows that pertain to addiction. I know for a fact that I wouldn't be where I'm at today without everyone here. Because of this forum I am once again the father, husband, son, brother, and friend that I was meant to be. Everyone here will always have a special place in my heart. The support here is truly priceless.

For anyone just starting this journey, it is so worth it. I know how daunting the thought of withdrawals can be but that week or two of pain is worth every second of it. You know you can't use forever and the day will come to where you're going to have to take the plunge. The sooner you take that plunge the sooner you can live the life you were meant to live. Stick around the forum regardless of what happens. Nobody here will judge even if you slip up 20 times. Everyone here is so understanding because we have all been in your shoes. Even if you are currently using, eventually something will click.

Thank you all for the kind words. It's a great feeling knowing I have everyone here standing behind me. Know that I'm here for anyone that needs anything.

By the way Sara.....if you want to know what Army stands for, just ask!

Hi Brian..

2 years - Wow..I'm not sure what else to say;  I've read many a post of yours, and they are always written with heart, compassion and caring.
You are truly an asset to this forum - and I for one am glad to know you.

I love your words about Courage - they keep me going during my workouts. Being a Marine, I'm sure they've kept you going through much tougher stuff.

Congratulations;  You have much to be proud of!

you have been an inspiration to so many people here. you give hope & strength to those that come needing help, or maybe just someone to listen. you encouraged me when i first came here, scared and unsure, knowing only that i wanted to be free from my addiction. For that, I thank you with all I am =) congratulations on two years brian!!!
