5 HTP - does it work?

I had a rough time getting of cymbalta in the past so I'm against taking any prescription SSRI....i was reading up on the amnio acid protocol and saw what the autor wrote about 5HTP possibly eliminating...if not at least helping with PAWS..
Has anyone used it and gotten positive results?
I'm nervous about starting to take something - even if it is a supplement...thanks.

I took it a few times , i did notice a slight change however it gave me really crazy and vivid dreams so i would only take it every other day and i noticed i wasn't really hungry as much and at the time i wasn't eating much so i stopped taking it, also i had to take it at night it made me sleepy , i also was going to try the SAMe see how that works , the 5htp only cost about 9 bucks at the GNC i bought it. Hope this helps alittle

Hi,
I took 5HTP and didn't see anything different from taking it, but things work different for everyone.  Have you checked into SAMe?  If not, I would do some research on that.  It's a lot pricier than the 5HTP but I've heard some people having great results with it.  Good luck :)
