5 day detox to get off subs. Will it work?

Ok I'm going to try to make this very short and to the point. Fiancé been on subs for 6 years. Now it's either get off them or loose his daughter. He is currently in a 5 day detox program which is giving him a small dose of methadone while he's there. My question is, once he comes home and no longer has the methadone to replace the subutex, are his withdrawals going to go right back to completely unbearable? Or will he be okay? I'm just looking for a way to create my expectations. Don't wanna set my hopes to high, but also don't want him to feel that I don't believe in him.. He NEEDS this..

No, its not going to work.....and i wouldnt waste my time or $$ with the methadone. What treatment detox center said it would if u dont mind me asking b/c id find somewhere else to go, for sure!
If you dont mind me asking....how many mg of the subs is he on per day???

What's his current dose of Suboxone?  Its critical information to give you some sense of what's going to happen.  I'm going to suggest that the 5 days of methadone is going to do almost nothing to aid his recovery other than delay the inevitable.  Keep posting or send me a private message.  I've detoxed off suboxone and have been clean for 7 months.  It CAN be done.

He's going to be in withdrawal.  Sorry there's no way to sugar coat it really, dosage and what not would be helpful to give an actual estimate of what will be on the plate during the next few weeks though.  I'm not personally experienced with subs so hopefully someone who is can give a more exact answer but yeah, as far as I'm aware he will not be through the WD's after only  five days after taking them for six years.
