A little off topic

Question

I am still clean and have been doing better.  I have not had any hydrocodone or anything in 58 days!  I have a job offer and am looking forward to starting.  I had to take a drug test yesterday and woke up in the morning around 9 AM drank two glasses of water, then left at 11 AM and drank an 8 oz red bull on the way to the drug screening.  I always drink a couple of glasses of water to make sure that I can go for the test.  I got an email to re test because the urine was diluted.  Is that common and does it look bad to the employer?  I looked up a search online and it had many statements where it does.  I have to retest tomorrow without drinking any fluids, but I don't think that what I drank would cause something like this.  I really need this job and it will help me through my addiction.  Has anyone heard of this type of thing before?

Yes I have never failed a drug test.  I think that I am going to take your advice and see my family doctor.  Also, my father suggested that I offer to take a supervised test where they watch me.  I will suggest that to them as well because I am clean and have nothing to hide, just want to get this behind me. Yes beer fills my bladder, even one beer will make me pee several times which I would think gets it out of there.  Thank you for the input and I will not drink any beer this weekend and will cut way down on the fluids just in case.

im unsure, but seems if they arent finding ne dope , even if it is diluted, and you have a clean record they should clear you. maybe you should talk to your family doctor and have him look into it? and yeah i think beer does dehydrate your body, but it sure does fill your bladder, or is that just me LOL? hope ya get cleared

I did drink some beer and I always drink a lot of liquids anyway.  My last drink was at 3:00 A.M. and I drank 4 ounces of water before the test which is way less than what they said I can drink.  I took the test at 2:30 P.M. I have had D.O.T. drug tests and I even had one right after my birthday where I was hung over when I took the test and passed without a problem.  Does beer dilute urine?  It seems as though it has other things in it too and they are checking for the specific gravity.  I talked to the administrator today and he said that I may just be hydrated very well.  Doesn't beer dehydrate you?

only thing i can say is, dont drink ne thing b4 the test. seems the one where ya had 2 glasses of water n a red bull shoulda passed you, that is not that much liquid hitting the bladder over that period. do you drink beer, as that can really dilute you urine? if so maybe skip the nite b4 the test. hope it works out, i know start dates are wutcha base those bills on !

Does anyone have any advice?  I just took my third drug test because the second one came out as a diluted sample.  I just want to get this to go through so I can get a start date!

By the way I went to the doctor and got checked out since I am still depressed since I quit.  I know that a large part of it is due to me not having a job right now.  The doctor did a blood test and found that my thyroid levels were a little high.  He wanted to give me antidepressants and check the levels again in three months.  Do you know anything about that?  I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet, but doesn't low thyroid levels cause lethargy?

I am not worried about testing positive, but I am worried about it being diluted again or that looking bad to the employer like I am trying to hide something.  I think I will take the test later in the day and not drink anything tomorrow before I go.  I do not know what the next step would be if it came up diluted.  I think this lab must be picky because I have never had a problem before and usually have to chug water out of the fountain in front of them so that I can go.
