Taper yourself our ask Dr. for help.. Avoid Cold Turkey if possible but unless you have heart problems Cold Turkey WILL NOT KILL you..  It'll hurt a bit but your on a semi- low dose but a year and a half is awhile.  Talk to the Doctor.  your friend Rick

Hi,

Yes, you can stop cold turkey.  At 4 vikes a day, the withdrawals shouldn't be that bad and would be over within a couple of days.  I would suggest you post this in the Substance Abuse Forum here at MedHelp where they give support and advice to get off of opiates.  The members over there (including myself) can and will help you throughout your detox should you decide to go cold turkey and will be with you every step of the way.  Good luck to you :)
