advice for a teacher

ok guys here is where I am now. ( recap: 1 year vicodin addiction 21 days clean) I woke up Monday and I felt like a cloud was lifted...mentally I feel a hundred fimes better, although I am still not back to myself quite yet.  I am no longer crying constanty and the anxiety is about 60% gone.  My prroblem still is that I have little energy and dont want to do much more than lay in my bed and watch t.v.  I WANT to want to do more...I just cant seem to find the will.  I have to FORCE myself to get in the shower and go for walks.  I am a teacher and I have to go back to work in 2 weeks and I am scared to death I wont be able to make it through the days....if I can barely make it through my day now, how am I suppose to make it through the day at school???  do you think it will get better in the next two weeks?  any advice??

If you still have 2 weeks before you have to be back at work...then you will be okay.  You will be feeling a lot better by then

I  soooo agree with ZJILLIAN... that LIST WAS PERFECT....(I especially liked number 3)... Get dressed... (DOESN'T HAVE TO BE CLEAN CLOTHES)

At 84 days CLEAN.. (from an 8-10 Norco habit a day x's 3 years)
I STILL have to MAKE MYSELF GET UP... then GET DRESSED.. (they are NOT clean clothes).. then go for a WALK.. then go out and ride my horse. which only makes my DIRTY CLOTHES DIRTIER!

Hang in there sweet pea... everyday DOES get BETTER .. it just takes time...

Love, Hugs and PRAYERS your way...

You're doing great! and right on schedule! Two weeks is a long time and if you take care of yourself you'll be fine. (know from past experience). I also know that for me the 20-27th days were the hardest because the physical stuff was pretty much over and then I started having a return of WD symptoms and felt horrible again and NO ENERGY. Which I think is due to depression.

For me the only thing that works (and it is not easy for me to do is the following).
1. Make myself get out of bed, if I can't I have someone pull me out of bed.
2. Make myself take a shower.
3. Get dressed (doesn't have to be clean clothes)
4. Drink orange juice.
5. Sit outside no matter the weather for at least 15 mins. (getting whatever sunshine there is.
6. (Now this is the really hard thing) Make myself leave the house and walk outside. Can be far or short, fast or slow, the main thing is to start moving.
7. One other trick, especially for anxiety, If you wear glasses or contacts take them off. This one REALLY WORKS.
