Thanks! I do A LOT of yoga so I will definitely try that out. Anything to get through the uncomfterable days is worth a shot... plus I've heard heated yoga is really benificial so I'll probably keep it up even after the effects of my relapse are over.
And to dominosarah, I actually went to therapy for the first year and half of my recovery. Since this happened, I agree that I probably should make an appointment to get back in to see my therapist.
This is why we tell everyone GUARD UP.....Gotta take care of that mental part as that is what gets us. Are you getting any type of recovery care?
"And I've never done Bikram Yoga although I've heard of it. "
Well I only mention it because you wrote you do a lot of yoga. This type of yoga will amaze you on how quickly you get through detox. You can do it yourself. Just heat up the room you normally do your yoga in to 105 with around 40% humidity.
Do your postures as normal, make sure you stay hydrated.

Awwww now I feel bad! Yours was pretty good I have to agree :-) ... and to Vicki and everyone, thanks so Much! Now that I've found this forum I'll be here for sure. It feels great to be able to say "I don't want to do this anymore and i certainly don't want to end up like before" and just stop and not be absolutly terrified and feel like the world is ending. Very empowering. Three years ago I couldn't imagine life without my "precious pills". Now, it's totally different and it feels great. :-) Will keep everyone posted
I so agree with the other Vicki...what's important here is that you stopped! Keep your focus there...so many don't; and keep posting!
Thats OK. I always feel the same way..BUT Geez it would be me. Shoot I hate it when this happens. So I will just ignore it because you did get all kind of great responds..
Bless
And I actually didn't mean to pick a best answer I'm new here and have a new phone . .. in my opinion all of the answers are helpful so I don't feel that any answer is better than the others.
Thanks to everyone for the advice and positive feedback! Means so much because I don't have a very good support system in my family I've always done it on my own. That's why this site is so great not only for me but others as well!
And I just stopped yesterday, not feeling any WDs yet, so we'll see.
Definitely a lesson learned and I plan on never maKing this mistake again. A week of indulging and letting myself go is not worth betraying myself and all the hard work of getting and staying clean for two years. It wasn't even fun or feel good... was just the addict in me repeating old habits.
And I've never done Bikram Yoga although I've heard of it.
Thanks again everyone! Will definitely keep you guys updated
What do the letters CL stand for Vicki? Something _leader right
M ichael
You will see a purple swirl by there name in each and every community. They kind of watch over things and make sure people are getting some respond. Dominosarah is our one on here and so is gnarley. Have not seen him in awhile he pops in and out but Sarah has been on and been clean for over 5 years. There are all kinds of CL in each area, it depends on the person and where they want to help the most..lol
Maybe but it all depends so much of the WDs has to do with the mental part.
I knew someone that was clean for 4 years and then slipped and did a few oxys only for 4 days and told me the WD's were as bad if not worst than when he went CT after 4 years of daily use go figure.
Michael
Dumb question but what/who is a CL leader Vic?
Generally, folks don't have wd's after a week or so of use although I knew a man who took Lortab for 3 days post op and had horrible anxiety and some tummy issues...Have you stopped yet?
Keep hydrated and eat properly. Not thinking about it helps! Let us know how it's going...
Okay thanks 3 to 4 days, however if you do Bikram Yoga (hot yoga done in a heated room) you will cut down that time considerably.
Best
Michael
Roxies.. one or two 30s a day
Thanks so much for the encouragment :-) So glad I found this forum not only to post this question but also to hopefully give some helpful advice to others.
When I initially relapsed, I thought, "oh just once for fun". Yesterday when I realiZed I'd been uSing everyday for a week (even though it was very very small amounts) I thought "whoa, I need to stop this beFore it gets bad again! "
So yea, didn't think twice about blocking and deleting that number! No matter how yucky I might feel for the next few days or so, it's totally worth not going back to full fledged addiction! I might be dOing yoga 24/7 for the next few days, but that's fine by me haha!
It depends on what a small amount is and what kind of opiates?
Michael
Hm.. well that's tough to discern without actually knowing you, but I think given that you've been clean for as long as you have been, and that it's only been a week since you slipped, it will probably be just a few days days of being uncomfortable.
And GOOD for you for deleting that phone no. and cutting that tie. Just goes to show all of us that we will always be vulnerable. But I give you a lot of credit for realizing it this early on and doing something about it. GOOD for you.
Hang in there - :)
