Oh, when I tapered off 1 1/2mg's, 4x's/day, I went down 1/2mg every week, then when I got to 1/2 mg's, I broke them into halves to take for a week with no side-effects in the end.

You can eat a truck-load of bz's and not die UNLESS you mix with other drugs, especially alcohol. I took 180mg's of Xanax in about 20 minutes before bed. Next thing I know I'm in my psychs office the next morning. 180 1mg Xanax with no problems. FYI, this was a long time ago when anti-depressants didn't come with the warning of possible suicide attempts in teens and young adults. I was on Paxil, and the funny thing, (I can laugh now) is that when I got home, Opra Winfrey had parents of kids who killed themselves because of anti-depressants, especially Paxil and Effexor. Their kids had a little depression, so they were put on anti-depression meds, and a few weeks later found their kids dead from suicide. Scary stuff. Sometimes I can't believe some of the meds that are allowed to make it to market.

im thinking they where the .25 or they would be dead...I know some benzo heads that where taking 20mg a day xanex is widely abuzed...but ya 167 is a lot even for a chronic abuser

You're kidding,right?  That's 55 pills each day. How long have you been taking Xanax?

hi and welcome to the forum....if you did 167 xanex in 3 days you need to be under a doctors care to get off them or risk going into seizures this is bound the relm of do it yourself detoxing please seek professional help........Gnarly
