if you go 2-3 days without it and are fine. Youre not addicted.
I personally dont see how thats possible...but, maybe its just me
Sounds to me like you already know you have a problem. Are you thinking about stopping? It is possible and important. The drinking only gets worse slowly or rapidly and quitting becomes harder and harder. Check out the AA site, I think they have a quiz "Do you think you might be an alcoholic". In any event keep talking about it. Sometimes you don't really know how much you are drinking. We tend to minimize.Keep reading the posts and posting your own. It is a great place to get advice and support.
Such good advice. I think you really do have a problem with the alcohol and please check out the "alcohol abuse" forum for some good help there too.

If your drinking everyday for the past 5 years, there is definately dependency there. The fact that you have to TRY to drink less and also "can't seem to stop for more than a day" is another sign. Most of us are addicts/alcoholics here and it took a long time for me to accept that i was too, but doing so helped me get clean. Only you can say if your addicted, but by this post I say yes. Do you want to try to stop? This is a great support group and even though it may seem hard to believe, life is 10x better without alcohol and drugs. Stick around and try putting the sauce down, you will feel so much better:) Best of luck
