Am I addicted?

I started taking co-codamol a number of years ago (can't remember why) but now take them about 4 or 5 days out of 7.  I take the soluble ones which I believe have a high sodium content and make me thirsty.  As I suffer with anxiety and depression ( I take Citilapram 20) I find that the co-codamol take the edge off it and make me feel relaxed when they kick in.  I take them fior tension headaches but find that they actually give me rebound headaches the next day.  Stupidly I use this as an excuse to take more.  Although I only take a maximum of one dose a day I am worried that I am too dependent on them??

You are taking codeine, a narcotic used for pain, and narcotics are addicting. Since you are not taking a huge dosage, if you cut down very slowly you should be able to get off the stuff. If you have trouble with this, see your doctor.

Only you can answer that question and if you are here asking i think you know the answer.  There are a few red flags in your thread.  Taking them that many days a week to relax and take the edge off is a big one.  Do you want to quit taking these?
