Hello there and welcome I'm also new to this site but it seems like a blessing even if people don't have answers they still lend their support congrats on even considering sobriety and staying out of jail I've been through both of your scenerios and there is a time for all of us to quit and the ones who do it before they reach a coffin are truly blessed I'm don't know much about codiene but tramadol is a fairly easy detox the worse of it is restless leg syndrome which can be handled pretty good with vitamins Epsom salt baths and hot and cold compresses also you can wrap ace bandages around your thighs for comfort as tight as possible without cutting off circulation try to load up on fiber good luck

hi ther, just wanted to lend my support.  Vic did a great job of giving you the "are you ready" introduction.  Nowthe decision is up to you!

I can tell you if you are ready to quit, MedHelp is a blessing!  We are all addicts or opoid dependents (if there is a difference) and the one thing we have in common is that we have all faced detox and have a weath of information from the experience.  (In my case, I am still detoxing from years of fentanyl and oxycodone and will have been tapering from about 2 months.  I couldn't do it without the help of MedHelp.  I have met some amazing people that are there to help all hours of the day or night.  I have met some "taper buddies" that I lean on when things are rough.  The support is invaluable!)

Anyway, just wanted to say welcome and wish you luck.  hope you join us!!

Hi & Welcome..If you are ready to quit you came to a wonderful most blessing site in the World. You know there is a lot to this disease. In my opinion you should tell the Dr so they can do a nice and easy taper or give you some comfort meds. It is no fun but the detox will be over soon..The works really begins when we have to stay clean. No more using just to feel good or get all our work done at once..Any emotional reason and there are many. You will get a lot of Support on here but you will need face to face Support too.
SO are you ready to quit???
