oh yea and you wont die during recovery and sobriety but with that many vics, if you continue it will destroy your liver. im sure you knew that. just really try and stay positive and look forward to your new sober life... so be strong and just keep on going down the road to recovery. you CAN do this. message me with any questions. good luck and you can do it... you can...

hey if you have educated yourself and are extremely informed on suboxone and you feel it is the best option for you than so be it- but if you havent done research do so first. im definitely not talking bad about suboxone because it saved my life... if after youve educated youself and you want to go the sub route what you have to do is stop taking the vicoden all together and take your last vicoden dose 15 maybe even 24 hours to be safe and then take you first dose using the mg and direction given to you by your suboxone doctor. you HAVE to be in withdrawal to start suboxone or it will make you dope sick(severe withdrawal) immediately. if you do everythingthe right was (start sub only after you have been wthdrawaling, take it following your doctors directions, etc) then you will feel almost instant relief and will keep your brain from constantly craving vics. ive been clean from opiates for 2 years now thanks to the help of suboxone, but its not same for everyone, but i was a very very heavy heroin and oxy user for a long time and like i said it saved me...do you have a long term plan: na and/or aa meetings or an addiction specialist? this is a very big part in your recovery. its probably one of the most important part of recovery, if not the most important.. how long do you want to be on sub because it is addictive some choose long term maintenance, thats what i do, or a short term quick taper of the sub? anyway. i know a lot about the medicine since i have done A LOT of research and im on it myself. update us when you decide.

Good Luck,

-Mason.

Hang on, you can get thru this.  Have you consulted your doctor on this before you started?  If not, go see him/her.  They can give you an appropriate taper schedule.  I was on much less, for less than a year, and it took me almost 1 month to taper off.  You may be rushing it and you may need something else to help you thru this, they often add an antidepressant which boosts serotonin levels becuase hydro takes over that function and when you stop, it takes your brain a long time to start producing it again.  don't put yourself thru more misery than you need, I did that by rushing and it made my WD's worse than they had to be.  hang on!!!

That sounds like a hefty amount to take everyday for 5 yrs.  It seems like 15 would be too many to me.  Sorry,  Try to calm down and work out a tapper plan to get your intake down.  You most certainly won't die, maybe feel bad,  you still have so much in your system that you shouldn't be in withdrawls. Perhaps not getting the high you want but if you want to quit then you either quit and go cold turkey or tapper-off the pills.  You probably need to talk to a dr. about the suboxone and when to stop the pills. Others on here might be able to help you with that part. I understand that it;s like exchangeing one drug for another and sub is supposed to be very hard to get off of. Best wishes to you and post again if no one answers this post.
