How can I withdraw from fioricet on my own?

I have been on and off of these pills for years.  I am now on Medicare and it will not cover a detox facility.  Cannot go to my doctor because she is a former student.  Also, she is a PA and her supervisor is a *****.  I have 300 on hand, seriously tempted to just end it all.

Hello...I was on this drug for many, many years at doses like yours. There are others who've wandered through here who also had decades-long love affairs with this drug. Ohhhh it seemed so hopeless that I should ever get clean of it, but I did! I remember an old friend from here who said the same thing when she first came here, but she got clean before I did! There is hope...hang in there. Trust me when I say there is hope!

Best to you.

Hello Debbie Welcome to the forum. Nothing is worth killing yourself.. Yes you can taper off the Fioricet You will have to be disciplined and determined you may even have to hand them over to someone to dole out for you but there is always a way off drugs. We do not know how many you take a day we really do not know much except you have threatened to end it all.. You have been on and off over the years so you have gotten off, do you mind if I ask how? This means you have knowledge about it but maybe just need support. We will be happy to support you thru this process. I will look forward to reading your reply. I wish you well. lesa

I had just saw that you have been supported this is good.. Sorry I did not see them all above me! What I wrote still stands It is doable.. Wd of any kind is a difficult process but freeing yourself from being a slave to this medication would be worth the effort. You will feel better in the long run. After a while all addictions turn on ya and you need to take more to get a result you will never achieve.. Hope you are Determined as you can see you will get support..

I am ok, just very frustrated.  I didn't mean to alarm anyone.  I spend too much time alone and in bed.  In a lot of pain with arthritis, can't do the things I used to do.

OK....so first, lets decide that your option of ending it all is not a good idea!  Totally NOT what you want to do here because you can get off this fioricet most definetly on your own!  First, can I ask how many a day you take?  How many mg per day?

I take about 18 to 21 a day.  Withdrawal sucks, can't stand the headaches that come with it.   They are mostly caffeine and acetominophine with 40 or 50 mg of butalbital in them.
