Are "we" on a list?

I have been on vicodin for about a year, to to say the least I have done bad things to get my meds. How do I find out if I am on a "watch" list with pharmacys? Is it even my right to know? I have to add that I have been clean for a while now, but when ever I go to the pharmacy I feel them just starring me down, maybe its my guilt, maybe its my head.
Anyone know or know how to find out?

What is the "list"???????????

Also if you are on it, does that mean that that pharmacy will not fill controlled substances for you with a prescription???

So curious??????

Thanks for the support. Just so everyone knows, I am clean and will not ever put myself in that position again. I will say this, it is sooooo hard, I just feel like giving in sometimes, but I just come here and read these post, and it sets me straight, again.

Congrats.  You are doing great.  If you are on a list that is there to deny you drugs if you try to get some.  If you aren't getting some, then don't fret.  There is nothing you can do if you are on it, and if you call you will probably get yourself put on it.

If, for some reason, something bad happens in the future, well, you will deal with it then.  Freaking over it now won't do a thing but make you nuts.

Stay clean.  Sometimes we do have to pay for mistakes in the past.  Sometimes we make up for them voluntarily.  But what is done is done.  Don't give them another script and live your life.

Unless of course you are just trying to find a way to keep getting the stuff without getting caught.  That I can't help you with.

Staying clean takes away a lot of the problems in our lives.  It is hard, but better than jail or death.

We could all be on a watch list just for being on this board.  Who knows?  The gov is everywhere these days.  Keep your nose and body clean and hopefully, this too will pass.  Maybe they are looking at you funny because you are not getting drugs with illegal scripts?  Maybe they are proud of you?  Maybe they ate a bad sandwich for lunch?  Maybe they are thinking about leaving their spouse?  Who knows?  Let it go.

Here is a trick.  Make a box that you can't open.  Shoe box sealed with duct tape will do.  Put a slit in it.  Write down your biggest fear and put it in the box.  You can ask God, or the universe, or Captain Kirk, whatever floats your boat, for help with that problem.  Then put the slip of paper in the box.  Once it is in there, it is out of your head and out of your hands.  You can do this with other fears as well.  Just ask for help with the problem and then let it sort itself out.   Actually letting go of the paper and dropping it in the box made a big difference for me.  Maybe it will work for you too?

Good luck.

Hi...congrats on being clean. I don't know about the list for vicoden but the reason they have you swipe your dl for decongestants is to control the purchases used for meth production. I believe they can only sell you 2 boxes at a time and you have to provide ID or sign for it. Best of luck to you.

My husband says that, even though it was bad what I did, that the police are looking for bigger fish. I am still worried, and all I can say is that I am clean and wont do it again.  I am certain that I am on a list, cause when I went to get decongetant from the pharmacy, (they always make me swipe my drivers licence, which is fine I dont mind), but the last time I went there the guy behind the counter kept looking at me funny, and even though I have bought there before he kept having to re-enter my info.

I dont worry bout all of this stuff anymore...i used tho think it was a deep dark secret...but for some reason i just do not anymore..after going to meetings and researching addiction...addiction is just too dern common for people to hide...and i mean i was totally embarassed and no one knew except 1 friend...now pretty much all my friends know, my mom, my doctors...I am not looked down upon be-cos of it at all

I guesss if i had forged scrips that would make me nervous to go back to that pharmacy...for sure and i would avoid it like the plague..but u r clean now...be proud cos what many of us have done is a tough thing to do...many out there never will quit or have another addiction like alcohol etx that is more socailly "acceptable"

I worry too..I live in a small town..only two pharmacys..there is a tech who works in both stores..she makes me very nervous..As I too have done bad things to get scripts..Im in the process of quitting..tapering off..so Im hoping soon she wont have a reason to look down her nose or raise her eyebrows...Whats she doing in BOTH pharmacys anyway..She really bugs me! I know its my own fault...its kind of amusing..Mostly sad tho..

Monta, I have had the same concerns.  As you did, I also did some bad things to get me meds also.

What I worry about now, is that after 11 months, (I was on alert and almost got caught, or did, but never went to pick up the script) are they going to one day investigate this, and arrest me a year later?  Can they?

Thanks for all the support. I will surely keep being clean. I have learned that those pills dont love me near as much as i loved them. I was only worried cause of some of the comments I had read about being on "pharmacy list".

It feels good to walk in the pharmacy now and the pharmacist will say well how many days now??  Feels good to look them in the eye and tell them.  I remember the guilt and wondering if they thought something was up also. Those feelings will go away the longer you are clean.

Congratulations on quitting!!! I agree with worried,if you're not on a "list" and you call and inquire about it,which is really the only way I know of that you can find out at this point, thats going to cause suspicion.I understand what you're saying about not being able to help but wonder, but I think it's best to let that one go.Enjoy the pride you should be feeling about quitting and the relief in knowing that you don't have to concerned about being on a "list" in the future. All the best ....Kim

I can not help but wonder, and as far as quitting, I already have, but the fear and guilt linger on.

I would think the only way to know if u r on a "list" is to call and ask...sure give away sp dont do it..one way to be sure u r not the 'list' is to quit...u know this is just too much worry and work..dont u think?
