Back again...

Ok I'm back! Was doing well for a while until my doctor put me back on vicodin 5/500 before my surgery in July. I had total ankle replacement, so therefore you can imagine the pain I was in after my surgery! I was put on 5mg oxycodone 2 every 4 hours, along with Lyrica 50mg 3x a day, Oxycontin 10mg every 12 hours, and the doctor also gave me a script for Ativan .5 mg and Dilaudid 2mg. I never took the Ativan & Dilaudid until I ran out of everything else. I had a doctors visit last week of July and he put me back on Vic 5/500 120 pills that ran out a week iago. I had 20 Percoset 5/325 left over from a time ago, began to take them last Wednesday and took my last pill on Monday at 11 am! So there's a little background, let me add I have been on and off vicodin and percoset for the past 3 years due to my injury. I never took anything stronger until my last surgery. I am still in a little pain but have managed in with advil 800 mg twice a day and Tylenol 1,000 mg a day since Monday. I have no choice but to be off the vics and perks, my doctor will not write me anymore. Here it is 74 hours without any opiate painkillers and my symptoms are very mild except for the bad diarrhea. I could only sleep for 5 hours last night & did toss and turn a bit. My legs were mildly crampy so this led to the tossing & turning! I started taking immodium ad yesterday and had to take it again today. Mild hot & cold flashes as well. I'm always hungry so that's a good sign, but scared to eat cause of the diarrhea. Anyway my energy level is so so ... So my question is this the peak of symptoms? Will I feel more normal tomorrow? Any advice, positive encouraging words would be helpful!

Gag595 I'm not on anything but Advil or Tylenol now. Took my last opiate painkiller 11am this past Monday (Labor Day).  It has been 82 1/2 hours since my last pill! I'm done with that crap, I don't want to worry about getting sick etc.. I will deal with the pain accordingly thru PT and OTC meds such as Tylenol or Advil :)

Thanks guys! I feel pretty good right now except for a nagging pain in my ankle (guess I was on it too much today). I'm finally tired too, just to make sure I fall asleep & take care (hopefully) of the pain I took a Advil PM, just one. I hope it works, I really want to sleep soundly. I snapped a lil today, but quickly caught myself :) I really think everything is going to work out fine!

Congratulations. I'm so proud of you!!!! You give me hope. I'm still not off of my Vic's but will try desperately to taper for the next week. I have been exercising a lot. Trying to get ready for the big day and scared as hell. Everyones body is different so hopefully you are almost in the clear. Drink lots of fluids. Hang in there! We can do this!!!
Thanks for posting!
