Best Way and Quickest method to get off methadone.

Im was in the army and got addicted herion and those problems also led to my discharge from the army which was an honorable just in case anyone was wonderin lol.And to overcome my herion addiction i went to the methadone clinic and now im addicted to methadone.I also am re-enlisting in the army and i have to report to my unit by July 1.I am askin any advice or anything to help me overcome my addiction.

Could you try to wean yourself from methadone (go down to about 15 mgs a day) then stop for 2 to 3 days, then find a clinic that will give you either subutex or suboxone?  That stuff works wonders.  That is what I did, and I have been of the done for a year and a half now.

Methadone is no joke either. The withdrawals from methadone can last a month. And they can be brutal. At 19 years of age you may get a break ..... you dont have the historical use that many do.  Look for the Thomas Recipe and the Amino Acid Protocols..... they should be in the Health Pages as listed at right hand side of screen......or use medhelps search engine..lot of good information in the health pages about methadone.....and good luck to you!!

About the only thing I could advise is to go cold turkey if you want the fastest way, followed by aftercare. Some counseling and NA meetings are highly recommended.  I don't know much about methadone and I guess depending on how much you are taking would determine how long the WD's would last. PLEASE do your best to stay off heroin!! I just attended my BFF's little brother's funeral last week, he died of a heroin overdose. That stuff is no joke!!
