Burning and tingling of arms!!

Ha anyone experianced burning and tingling of both arms while going through oxy withdrawals?  This seems to mainly happen at night and I've done some research h and it could be cause by a lot of things like nerve damage to the brain and/or trama..ect. I'm worried that I may need to go to the doctor to get it checked out...it just started 3 days ago. I'm hoping going through these with drawals didn't cause some nerve damage to my brain or something. Please if anyone had had this Symtom while withdrawaling from roxys please let me know!!!

Oh gosh, the burning went away first...the tingling took a lot longer.   I'd go a week and think "no more! yay!"  and then it would come back.

Withdrawal symptoms do that...they play hide and seek with you, so be prepared in case it happens.

Just a word of advice:  don't wait until the cravings hit to go to a meeting.   By then it might be too late.  This disease is cunning, baffling and POWERFUL.   We think can just exert our will power and brains to beat it, but for many folks, it just.  doesn't.  work.

I don't know why being a room full of other people who are also addicts and are trying to get better works, but boy, does it.     There is NO shame in this disease...it has brought down Presidents, CEO's, even doctors.   Addiction doesn't care who you are, what you do, how much money you have. It's an equal opportunity evil.

They said that recovery is 1/3 physical (withdrawal symptoms) and 2/3 mental.  It's the mental part that will trip you up...that is why after-care is so, so, so important.    Can you go to a meeting tonight, hon?  Will BF go with you?  He doesn't have to be 100% clean to go....all that is required is the DESIRE to stop using...and you've said he has that.

Okay, gotta run...big day today.   Glad you're feeling a bit better...

Hugs,
-Robin

Oh n the reason I said about the nerve damage thing was because I snorted them I didn't do the 30mgs all at once though because I would be Wayy to messed up like knodding out and stuff I would do a quarter of a 30 in the morning then 3 quarters at night cause it would help me sleep. Though I'm very pleased with the fact I've gone so long and haven't had the first craving.

Oh thank god! I was freaking out! I was thinking I'm only 23 I don't wanna have nerve damaged to my brain. My arms/legs are my only bad w/d systems I'm having now besides sleep but I actually slept longer tonight. I'm feeling better day by day just very slowly. I am taken muti-vitamin woman's one a day. I've been cleaning and stuff trying to stay active. As far as sun it's away to hot to be outside for no longer than10 minutes. It's been extreme tempitures down here. So yea the arm thing though I've had it for about 3 nights only at night though which I don't understand...how long did your arms do that burning tingling thing? Did your hands get kinda numb too. Not like bad numb but weird feeling

Very very common...I had this symptom while w/d'ing from oxy.  It didn't start until day 4-5, and then it was on/off.

I'm not a doctor, but I very much doubt that your use of opiates caused nerve damage to your brain.  Going through withdrawals is so scary because you get all these unexpected symptoms and they freak you out.  They did me too.

One thing I learned is NOT to google my symptoms.  Researching stuff on the internet will almost always give you a wrong diagnosis.

Give this a few more days hon.  You're in the thick of it right now.  Try not to focus on any one symptom in particular...and keep busy.  When you don't know what to do, just do what is in front of you.

Are you drinking a ton of water?  Getting any exercise?  A little sunshine will help too, as well as a good multt-vitamin.

Hang in there, you're going to start feeling better very, very soon.
