HI EVERYONE, WELL I HAVE TRIED TAPPERING DOWN BUT IT IS VERY HARD SO I HAVE A DOCTORS APPT. ON THE 7TH CAN'T WAIT, I'M ASKING THE DR. TO PUT ME ON SUBOXENE (SPELLING) BUT MY QUESTION TO YOU GUYS IS IF SHE PUTS ME ON THE MED WOULD I HAVE W/S ? HOW LONG WOULD I BE ON THAT MED? OR DO I STILL HAVE TO TAPPER MY MEDS PLEASE HELP AND WHAT OTHER QUESTION SHOUL I ASK MY DOCTOR WHEN I GO, I'M SO SCARE AND EMBERESTED BUT AT THE SAME TIME I CAN'T WAIT TO PUT ALL THIS BEHIN ME.

don't be scared... it won't help you. just keep your eye on the prize!!!  don't let fear creep in.  many people have survived it, and you will too.

if you do Sub short term, please have an aftercare plan (meetings, counceling, etc.) to keep you clean.  actually - i take that back - have a plan no matter what.

and there's a debate on here whether Sub is good for long or short term use.. that decision can only be made by you.

but please don't let fear stop you... I can hear you are ready to quit, so just do it.  you will be so pleased you took steps to make your life better.  a few moments of conquering that fear in the doctor's office is worth a lifetime of being happy.

Have you tried getting someone you trust to keep your pills and dole them out to you on a daily basis until you are down to one a day and then quit?  I tried to taper and was not sccessful either...I started tapering yesterday and a friend has my pills

25 pills a day. If they were 10 mg tabs you need to get your liver checked also. That is alot of hydrocodone.

lonesome,you only want to use the sub for about 20 days. It does take away the w/d and the cravings but if you are on it to long you will have to withdrawl from it. It is something you have to be very careful with. Good luck

I have read some of your posts. I still do not know what you are using and for how long. the reason I asked was to say you could just quit and be done with it by Feb 7th. But that would depend on what and how much you are taking. If it's like Tramadol, do not quit cold turkey.

If your doctor is not certified to prescribe suboxone, you will have to find one that is.

Go to naabt.org and do some reading about the program. Suboxone blocks opiates, so you won't be taking anything while on it.
