HELP! Need Help getting off OXYCONTIN

I have been taking Oxy for about a year. I have weened myself down to 1 80mg pill per day.

I bought some 25MG Methadone pills and I would like to know if there is anyone out there that can tell me how to do this safely.

Please help. I really want to get off the oxy.

You have tapered to one 80 a day.. I'm with kim loose the methadone.. after you use that you will still have wd.. why not just jump and get it over with.. a week of feeling bad compared to weeks of feeling bad seems more reasonable.. the worst days are 3 and 4 maybe 5 but then the symptoms ease.. we are a great group for support and ct it the fastest way to freedom... Hope you think about it.. There are things you can do and take to make the wd process a lil easier.. keep reading and reach out for support.. we have all been are where you are.. they all may not be the same doc but the results of addiction are the same.. Welcome to the forum.I was on methadone to get off vicodin.My honest advice to you is to do this and do this wisely,get rid of the methadone.Don't introduce another drug into the mix,especially methadone.Your best bet,if you are able and wanting to taper is to keep tapering with the oxy or you can just bite the bullet and go cold turkey.It's late and there are not a lot of members on right now.I'm sure more will come along in a few hours with advice for you.Please reconsider the methadone.No matter what you decide to do I wish you nothing but the very best and I hope you keep posting.This is a great place for help and support......Peace....Kim
